Harelson Happenings

Dear Harelson Families,



The excitement of a new school year is upon us! Our staff is working hard to be ready for the first days of school. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide you with much of the information you need for a smooth start to the year. You will find more information for families on the Amphi and Harelson webpages.



Please read through the information included in the newsletter thoroughly, as it will help ensure the school year begins safely and smoothly. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 520-696-6020. I am also happy to meet with you or answer any questions you may have either by phone, email, or in person.

Please welcome these new additions to our Bobcat family!

Important Dates

August 6th: Kindergarten Orientation by last name: A-J@9am and K-Z@11am (You will receive an email from your teacher with more information.)

August 5th: Bobcat Beginnings 1:00-2:30pm. The Hawaiian Ice truck will be here again this year!

August 6th: First Day of School 7:30am (Gates open at 7:10am. Students dismissed at 12:15pm)

August 13h: Parent Information Night, All Grades, 6pm (Meet in Funhouse, 2 parent sessions)

September 15th: Step It Up Fundraiser Kick Off

September 18th: Ice Cream Social, 5:30-7:00pm

Registration for Returning Students

Returning families are no longer required to fill our paper enrollment packets. Students are automatically enrolled in the next grade level. However, we do request that you fill out an annual enrollment update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Click here for Parent Portal information.


If your students are not returning to Harelson, or if you need assistance with the Parent Portal or have other registration questions, please contact our registrar, Lisa Hernandez at lhernandez@amphi.com or 520-696-6025,


School Hours

Our gates open at 7:10 each morning. Students report to the MPR for breakfast or the playground.

The first bell rings at 7:25. Students must be in their classrooms by 7:30. Students arriving after 7:30 must go through the office to get a tardy pass.


The parent drop off gates will close at 7:30. If you are running late, please drop your student off at the front office. You will need to park and sign in.


We have a new dismissal time this year. School will end at 15 minutes later (2:15pm).


Wednesdays are early dismissal days. The dismissal bell rings at 12:15pm.


Classroom Assignments

Teacher assignments will be sent out to parent emails on Friday, August 1st before 4pm.Teacher assignments can also be viewed on the Parent Portal the afternoon of August 1st. Please reach out to Lisa if you need help logging onto the portal. lhernandezamphi.com or 520-696-6025.


If you do not receive an email with your teacher assignment or cannot view the placement on the portal, please call the office during regular hours. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm. The office number is 520-696-6020.


Please know that there are many factors that are taken into consideration when creating classes. We are unable to make changes.

  1. Car Line: Students can be dropped off and picked up in the drive line located on the east side of the school off Paseo Del Norte. The gate is opened at 7:10am and pick up typically takes about 15 minutes to complete in the afternoon.
  2. Parent Drop off/Pick up: Parents and student enter and leave through the Health Office/Art room gate. The gate is opened at 7:10am and 2:15pm. At dismissal, students wait with a teacher at a designated spot for adults. Designated spots will be communicated by classroom teachers. If you are walking across the street, you must use the crosswalk. 
  3. Crosswalk: Students are escorted to the crosswalk at the corner of Paseo Del Norte and Chapala. They can meet siblings, walk home, or meet an adult across the street.
  4. Bus Riders: Students are escorted to the bus pick up area and are loaded onto buses. Please check the Amphi transportation website for bus route information. The "My Ride K-12" app is highly recommended to track buses.

Parking: Parking is available in the St. Andrew's Church parking lot directly across the street. Parking at St. Odilia's Church on the south west corner is no longer permitted. The Harelson parking lot is closed during pick up and drop off, as it is used for the bus loading zone.

All district and school, grade level and classroom information will be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).

Attendance and Tardies
Making a commitment to have your child on time to school and attending school EVERYDAY is a significant advantage to give to your children. Let's make this year the BEST one yet for you and your children! Please call to report absences at 520-696-6020.
